Privacy Policy

Boutique Journal version 1.0 is a personal journal for remembering the staff you meet in boutiques. Your boutiques, staff contacts, visits, purchases, notes, photos, and sizes stay on your device. There is no account, the app does not track you, and we do not receive your journal data on our servers.

Data stored on your device

• Boutique names, addresses, map coordinates, notes, photos, and any Instagram handle you save, including boutiques you create
• Staff names, roles, phone numbers, emails, notes, photos, and any Instagram handle you save
• Visit dates and notes
• Purchases: item name, price, size, date, and photo
• Sizes you save, such as shoes, clothing, belt, or wrist
• Preferences such as selected city, theme, sort order, and backup settings

Permissions on iPhone

• Camera — to photograph staff, purchases, and boutiques
• Photo library — to attach photos of staff, purchases, and boutiques. Photos you take or choose are resized and stored in the journal on this device
• Contacts — read only when you import a contact into a staff form. The app reads the contact you pick (name, phone, email, and note). It does not read the rest of your address book

Network use

The map is Apple Maps (MapKit JS). OpenStreetMap is used only as a fallback if Apple Maps cannot load. Nominatim address lookup runs only when you search an address for a boutique you add. Your location is used only when you tap Locate, and only to frame the map. That position is not saved in the journal. None of this creates an account or is used to track you. Your journal stays on this device.

Phone, email, and web links open only when you tap them. Sharing a boutique or a boutique list uses the share sheet on your device. A shared list file contains boutique names, addresses, notes, and any boutique photo you attached. It does not include staff, visits, or purchases.

Backup export / import

Settings → Export to file writes a JSON backup. On iPhone the file is saved under Files → On My iPhone → Boutique Journal, and the share sheet may open so you can keep a copy. That file is under your control. Settings → Import from file replaces the journal on the device where you import it, including staff, visits, photos, notes, and sizes. Optional auto-backup can save a file weekly or when you log a visit.

Analytics & tracking

Boutique Journal does not include third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

This website

If you use the support form, the email address, subject, and message you submit are sent to the developer by email. That message is separate from the journal stored on your device.

Children

Boutique Journal is not directed at children under 13.
